Introduction

Hi grammarians! When we are writing, we want to make sure that we use correct capitalization. Capital letters show that something is important, like proper nouns or the start to a sentence. They help us read and write fluently!

This week, we will learn the capitalization rules using the M.I.N.T.S. strategy. Today, our focus is on N - names, of people, places, and things. These are also called proper nouns.

Visual
Copy the chart and provide an example of at least one word that would need to be capitalized following the MINTS strategy. months, Days of the week, & Holidays. "i" stands alone. Names of people, places & Things
(proper Nouns)

Stop and Jot

In Your Notebook:  Copy the chart and provide examples of words that would need to be capitalized following the MINTS strategy. We will fill the rest of the chart out during the remainder of the week.
