Sentence Structure

Introduction

Hi grammarians! Today, we will be discussing more about clauses. Clauses have a verb and a subject, but they MAY or MAY NOT be a sentence!

There are two types of clauses: dependent and independent.

Dependent clauses depend, or rely, on another part of the sentence to make sense. On its own, it is NOT a sentence.

Independent clauses are sentences! They do not need another section or phrase to make sense.
