Nouns

Introduction

Hi Grammarians! Today, we will be learning about concrete vs. abstract nouns.

Concrete nouns are nouns that we can see, count, and/or feel.

Abstract nouns are things that are not physical. We cannot hold them in our hands. For example, freedom, happiness, and permission are all nouns, but you can't literally hold them in your hand.

Phone.png WRITING

Introduction

Hi writers! You began writing your essays! Yay! Today, we will finish writing our essays, but also begin to edit and revise.

As writers, we want smooth transitions from paragraph to paragraph and idea to idea. We do this by putting in transition phrases. There is a visual below of some transition words and phrases that you can use for your writing.

We can put transition phrases in while we are revising our work. Check out the graphics below for the strategies we will use to revise (ARMS) and edit (CUPS) our paper.

Finish writing your essay today, check it with the rubric, and turn it in.
