🔵 Module 1: W4 - Day 2 - ELA

Lesson Instructions

You will go through two lessons (one in grammar and one in writing).

Pencil GRAMMAR

Order of Adjectives

Introduction

Hi Grammarians! Today, we will be learning how we list adjectives when we are trying to use many words to describe one item.

You may ask yourself... why do English speakers organize their adjectives? Well, some say that we organize our adjectives by importance. The least important thing goes first followed by the most important adjective closest to the thing it is describing. This isn't ALWAYS true, but English can be tricky sometimes!

Introduction

In our previous lessons, we started filling out our graphic organizer. At this point, we should have the introduction and subtopics filled out in our graphic organizer.

Today, we will focus on writing a conclusion!

In our conclusion, we want to transition our reader to feel a sense of closure. We will restate the ideas from our introduction. Lastly, we can connect our topic to a bigger picture. Think... What does the topic matter?

Visual

Conclusions should include a transition word/phrase, restatement of the main idea in the introduction, and connecting your topic to the bigger picture of what it matters.

Stop and Jot

In Your Notebook: Finish your graphic organizer! After today, your graphic organizer should be complete and ready for you to begin writing.
