Inferences in Informational Texts

Introduction

Hi Readers! Today we will be learning about inferences. When a reader makes an inference, they have to think about what the author is saying in the text and then use background knowledge to make an inference. You can make inferences in everyday life, too!

For example, if you see someone eating something and then they make a face, then you can infer that the person does not like it.  If someone slams a door, we can infer that they are mad about something.
