Introduction

Hello grammarians! This week, we have been reviewing verbs that we have learned from previous grades. Most of the time, we think of verbs as actions like run, teach, read, eat, and more. There are also other verb types as well.

They were spinning and dancing.
List of example verbs: run, jump, skip, hop, shout, build, dance, backflip, flick, swim, twirl, sit

Phone.png WRITING

Introduction

I can brainstorm for informational pieces.

Writers, today we will be brainstorming! Yesterday, we learned about domain-specific vocabulary and how we can use that to sound like experts. What are you an expert in?

  • Think for a moment about what you are an expert in... or maybe what your interests are. Maybe you enjoyed learning about Native Americans or the life cycle of a butterfly in previous grade levels. Maybe you are really interested in gymnastics, baseball, dinosaurs or Legos. Write a few of your interests down on a piece of paper.
  • Today, we will use that to help guide our writing through brainstorming.
