Causes of the Civil War - Day 102

Introduction

Over the next two days, you will learn the vocabulary that you will need to understand the sparks of conflict that caused the Civil War in America. As you define these words, be sure to look for definitions that make sense in a historical context.

For example: RAID- abolitionist John Brown lead a small group on a RAID against a federal armory in Harpers Ferry, Virginia (now West Virginia), in an attempt to start an armed revolt of enslaved people and destroy the institution of slavery.

Today, you will use our vocabulary tool to complete the first three words: raid, states rights, and slavery.
