End of Course Review - Day 166

Introduction

Time travelers, take a reflective minute and think about this quote from American novelist, Ernest Hemingway:

β€œIt is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”

What does this quote mean to you? To me, it means that every journey must come to an end, but what you learn along the way is what is lasting. Over the course of the last thirty-three weeks, we have traveled back in time to learn about the American experience from the beginnings of the American Revolution, to the end of the Reconstruction era after the Civil War. We have learned key concepts with historical context; things like geography, government and civil understandings, and economics. What a journey it has been! Over our final three weeks together, we will review everything that you have learned so that you can answer important questions about the American experience.

Task Icon Module 2 Review: Causes of the American Revolution

Over the next three days, you will use the prompts below to really reflect on our historical journey.

  1. Can you answer the questions?
  2. More importantly, can you think about what it was like to be an American during this time?
  3. As you reflect on our journey, try to see the connections between history, the way our government has been shaped, how economic decisions are a guiding force, and how geography plays a role in history as well.
  4. Look back at your timelines, your research, your discussion posts, and your diary entries to help you reflect.
  5. What are some ways you could show what you have learned?
