Introduction

One of the most iconic events during this time period was perhaps the California Gold Rush. In 1848, gold was discovered in California. Thousands of people began moving westward in hopes of striking it rich. Today, we will begin our research on the California Gold Rush that contributed to California’s statehood in 1850.
