In the previous lesson, you reviewed the force of gravity. The video explored how gravity will pull objects down to the earth when tossed or dropped.

But… does gravity really pull things “down”?

In this lesson, we will explore gravity to gain an understanding of how it affects objects on earth.

  • Grab your Science Journal

  • Write this question at the top of the page: Does gravity pull things “down”?

  • Prepare your page for a scientific diagram by drawing a circle in the center of a clean page. This circle will represent the earth in your diagram.

  • Watch the video linked to this lesson. What can you learn about how gravity works?

  • After watching the video, add pictures, labels and a caption (words to explain) to create a scientific diagram that will answer the question, “Does gravity pull things “down”?
