Investigate: The Flow of Energy - Day 11
Introduction
In a previous lesson, you observed a cloud forming in a jar. What were you wondering as you made your observations? Where do clouds normally form?
I’m sure you’ve heard of the “water cycle” in school before, but today you will take a deeper dive into the water cycle. Today, you will begin investigating the SCIENCE behind the phenomenon. We will begin with investigating the flow of energy in the water cycle.
Let’s get started!
Heat Energy
Before we dive into the water cycle, we must first take a moment to review a form of energy: HEAT Energy!
In 3rd grade, you learned about heat energy and how it is transferred from one object to another. You learned how scientists use different materials to prevent heat energy from transferring from one object to another. You learned that some materials absorb heat, while others reflect heat.
This video should help jog your memory!
Assignment: Heat Energy Review
Now that you have watched a video as a review, it’s time to put your former 3rd grade brain to the test.
This information will be important to understand as we begin to investigate the flow of energy in the water cycle during upcoming lessons.
