🔵 Place Value Relationships Day 3
What comes next? What does Base Ten mean?
Introduction
Welcome back, Marvelous Mathematicians! We will continue to identify and describe relationships between numbers using multiplicative comparisons. The next place we are going to look for patterns is within our own number system, the Base Ten System. In this lesson we will look at familiar manipulatives, base ten blocks, relate to how we build numbers.
Guided Practice
Stop and Jot
In your math journal, answer the following questions including a multiplicative comparison.
- What is the relationship between a single and a rod?
- What is the relationship between a rod and a flat?
- What is the relationship between a flat and cube?
- How can you use the answers from the above questions to answer, what comes next?
