Unit 7, Lesson 15-- Finding Area of Larger Rectangles
Lesson 15- Finding Area of Larger Rectangles
Introduction
Hello Mathematicians! Today we will work on strategies for finding the area of rectangles with larger side lengths.
Take a look at this rectangle. Using the digits 1 through 9 at most one time each, find the largest area for the rectangle by filling the boxes. Justify your reasoning. Show your thinking in your math notebook.

Let’s get out our math journals and work through the following application problem. Make sure you read the problem carefully, draw a picture to match your thinking and write and solve an equation.
R (Read the problem carefully.) The living room was 14 feet long and 8 feet wide. What would the area of the living room be? D (Draw a picture.) W (Write and solve an equation.) |
