In Your Math Notebook

Let’s get out our math notebook and  work through the following application problem. Make sure you read the problem carefully, draw a picture to match your thinking and write an answer with numbers and words.

Read, Draw, Write, DONE!

R (Read the problem carefully.) Miguel and Matteo both love red jelly beans the best.  They each pour an equal number of jelly beans onto their plates, and then separate out the reds.  Miguel’s jelly beans are 3/8 red, and Matteo's jelly beans are 6/10 red.  Whose jelly beans are more than half red? D (Draw a picture.) W (Write an answer with numbers and words.)
