Hello Mathematicians! We have learned about arrays, and today we will look at area models.

Take a look at this image.

In your math notebook, answer these questions:

In the interactive below, choose the "Multiply" lab.

Part 1 Directions:

Create ten of your own rectangles. In your notebook, record the factors and product (area) that the rectangle represents. Write an equation for each rectangle: __ X __ = __
Answer the following in your notebook:
- What do you notice about the size of the factors and the size of the product/ area?

Part 2 Directions:

Create a rectangle with an area of 24 squares. Write a multiplication equation to match your model.
Is there any other ways to create an area of 24?
