Unit 2, Lesson 19 -- Derving the 6s Facts

Lesson 19-- Deriving the 6s Facts

Introduction

Hello Mathematicians! Today we will continue to work on fluently multiplying and dividing.  Take a look at this image.

5 packs of hot dog buns. 8 in each pack.

In your math notebook, answer these questions:

  • How many packs, or groups, of hot dog buns do you see?
  • How many total hot dog buns do you see?
  • What multiplication equation can we write to represent what is shown?

Now look at this image.  What is changed between the first image and the second image?  Jot down your thoughts in your notebook.

6 packs of hot dog buns. 8 in each pack.
