Unit 1, Lesson 2-- Building 3 Digit Numbers
Lesson 2-- Building 3 Digit Numbers
Introduction
Hello Mathematicians! Think back to the pile of popsicle sticks. Here, the sticks have been organized into groups of hundreds, tens, and ones. There are 7 bundles of 100, 3 bundles of 10, and 8 single sticks. How many sticks is that in all?
Well, 7 hundreds, 3 tens, and 8 ones is 738 sticks! How close was your estimate?
How else can we group 738 sticks? Draw your ideas in your math notebook.
