The dictionary is organized in alphabetical order. The top of each page has guide words. The guide words contain the first and last word on the page. All the other words on the page come between these two words in alphabetical order.  Complete the activity using guide words. Look at the two guide words at the top of the dictionary page. Biography Writing

You should have your draft of your writing completed in your writing journal. Draft the table of contents and the glossary for your writing.

  • table of contents: what are the different sections in your writing? Think about the graphic organizer you used and the different topics that you wrote about
  • glossary: underline the words in your draft that you want to include in the glossary, look up the definitions in the dictionary, and include the reference for the dictionary you used in your final publication

Once you have the draft completed, then begin the revising and editing process using the editing checklist. You will begin the publication stage tomorrow. You will begin to work on your presentation for your biography.
