Persuasive Writing

 Introduction

Hello Second Graders!

This week you are going to focus on a type of opinion writing. You are going to write a persuasive piece. When you are persuading someone, you are convincing them to do something by giving them reasons. The reasons may be good, beneficial reasons why they need to do something or you may be persuading someone not to do something and give them reasons why they should not. For this writing piece, you are going to persuade your audience to do something or to get you something. Let’s take a look at what persuasive writing is and some examples of what you can persuade people to do.
