πŸ’›13.1 Animal Research Writing

Animal Research

 Introduction

In the last module, you worked in the prewriting stage for your animal research project. You gathered facts, filled out graphic organizers, and organized your ideas about the animal you chose. This week you will continue through the writing process. You will use your prewriting information to begin drafting your writing. Then you will revise and edit the writing before publishing your writing and sharing it with others.

Today, you will begin the drafting stage of the writing process. You will use your graphic organizers from last module's prewriting to organize your ideas and begin writing. Before starting your draft, let’s review the model for informational writing and learn a bit more about the topic sentence.

Drafting Stage of Writing

Draft: Organize your ideas in sentences

Animal Research

You will need your writing journal to begin the drafting stage. Use the facts and ideas you gathered during the prewriting stage to help you write and organize your ideas. Use the hamburger informational writing model to help you. Start with your topic sentence, then add your facts and include your closing sentence at the end. You will work on the drafting stage in the next lesson as well.
