Hi Students,

This quarter you will focus on narrative writing and writing fiction stories. You will write about your own personal experiences, stories with fictional characters, stories that teach you a lesson, and learn many grammar terms and parts of speech. To keep our writing organized, you will need a writing journal. This journal will hold your rough drafts and final copies of your stories. 

This week we will talk about what an author is and what an author does. Think about a time that you have wanted to write a story. Where did you get inspiration and ideas? What materials and resources did you use?
