Introduction

Hello second graders!

 You have learned about Sequoyah and his importance to the Cherokee people. You also learned about how he created a syllabary (alphabet) for the Cherokee people. In today’s lesson, you will take a closer look at his alphabet and then use it to figure out a message in English.

Today you will need to do the following steps in order to complete the assignment:

  1. Go through the presentation titled “Sequoyah’s Alphabet”
  2. Use Sequoyah’s alphabet to decode a message in English
