Today we will explore the life cycle of a chicken!

Many animals start their lives in eggs. The first step in their life cycles is the same. But the other steps can be different.
Let’s continue to think about the life cycle of a chicken while you watch this video.

This diagram shows the five stages of a chicken’s life cycle. You can see how the chicken life cycle starts with an egg. Chicken eggs are laid in nests. Then, the embryo grows inside the egg. After that, the hatchling breaks out of the egg shell. The hatchling’s feathers dry and the hatchling leaves the nest area. When this happens, it is called a chick. Then, the chick eats and grows until it stops growing and becomes an adult chicken.
