🔵 Lesson 1: Our Sun is Near
Sun and Moon Patterns
Our Sun is Near
Introduction
Here on Earth, we can see many objects in our sky. On a clear night, we can see a sky full of shining stars scattered above us. Those stars are really far away. The Sun is the brightest object in our sky. It is also a star. It is closer to Earth making it appear so much bigger than the other stars. The Sun is at the center of our solar system, so Earth travels around the Sun. This is why the Sun appears, or looks, to be moving across our sky.
Students Will:
- Watch 2 videos to help them gain a deeper understanding of the Sun.
- Will do a quick demonstration to explore how we know the Sun is not the biggest star.
