Phonics Day 1: suffixes ful, ly, and y

Introduction

Welcome to day 1 of our  phonics lesson. This week we will be looking at words with the suffixes f u l, l y and y. Remember suffixes go at the ends of words. F u l at the end of a word means ful of, like playful means full of play. L y at the end of a word means how something is done in that way like slowly. Y at the end of a word gives the word action like sleepy.  Today you will help me find the suffix in words, read words with suffixes and read our decodable story.

Let’s roll.
