Phonics Day 1: Long o & long u

Introduction

Hello First graders, and welcome to day 1 of our new phonics lesson.

We are continuing to learn about the other sounds vowels make. They can sound like their name.

This week we will be learning about the long o, as well as the long u. Today we will substitute sounds in words to make new words, read long o and long u words, and read our decodable story. Please watch the video below. When you finish, listen to the story. Then, grab your learning coach and record yourself reading the story.
