Introduction

Howdy Children and welcome to day 3 of our long i phonics lesson.  Remember how long i says its name? It has a sneaky e on the end of the word. Today we are going to play a long i sound stomp, Change vowel sounds to create new words, read long vowel words, and read our decodable story. Let’s begin with our sound stomp.  I am going to say some words. If you hear a  long i  in that word I want you to stomp. If you hear another sound you do nothing.  

Lip slip light like bite bit mit mike pipe pip

Good! Now we are going to change the vowel sound in words to create new words again. Let’s go for it!
