Phonics Day 4: Digraph ch tch

Introduction

Thank goodness for you and day four. Welcome to day 4 of our ch tch lesson. The digraphs ch and tch make the /ch/ sound at the beginning and ends of words. Today we are going to change the first sound in familiar words to make a new word, look at rhyming words, make words with the -atch word family, and read our decodable story.  The sky is the limit, so let’s get to it.

Now I am going to read our /ch/ story for today. I would like you to read after me. Then write other animals that have a /ch/ in their names.
