Phonics Day 1: Digraph ch tch

Introduction:

Hello First graders, and welcome to day one of our ch-tch digraph lessons. In this lesson, we will learn about the digraphs ch and tch.  Remember a  digraph is when 2 letters represent one unique sound. The c makes the |c| sound, and h makes the |h| sound when they stand alone, but when they are side by side, they make the |ch| sound. Let’s look at some words to help us better understand. Today I am going to say the sounds that are in a word. I want you to blend them for me; then, we will look at a few ch words and read our decodable story. Let’s start off with blending sounds.
