Day 1: Ruby Bridges

Introduction

This week we will be learning about Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges was an incredibly brave young girl who helped pave the way for integrated schools. Ruby grew up in the south where racism was very prevalent. She is a hero to this day!

Today we will introduce Ruby Bridges and look at how she grew up. We will also go over some key vocabulary words: segregation, integration, and bravery.
