Hello writers! We are going to continue to work on making your writing the best it can be. Today I want to teach you how using transition words can help your writing flow.

For your assignment today, complete the following tasks to revise your work, paying special attention to using transition words effectively:
- Paste your essay draft into the space below.
- Read through each sentence of your essay. Anytime you see a transition word that you’ve used more than once, find a new word that means the same thing. For instance, the second time you use ‘also,’ try replacing it with ‘in addition to’ or ‘additionally.’ When you see ‘but’ for the second time, try using ‘however.’” Use the anchor charts to guide your work.
- If you have not used any transition words, or only 1 or 2, use the anchor chart to add in a few per paragraph.
- Be sure to export and save your writing for your next assignment.
