Hello readers! Today, you will practice identifying the connections between synonyms and antonyms.  Remember that synonyms are words that mean the same thing, and antonyms are words that mean the opposite.

Visual

Antonyms are words that mean the opposite of each other. Hot means the opposite of cold.

Synonyms are words that mean the same thing. Angry means the same as mad.

Synonym & Antonym Sort

Directions:

  • Read the word
    • Determine if it is a synonym or antonym by reading the bottom of the card
    • Read the words in the middle column.
    • Decide which word in the center column your card is connected to.
    • Place the card next to that word in the correct column.
