Introduction

Today, you will sort compound words by common characteristics.

We have been learning about compound words. Compound Words are two or more words that have been grouped together to create a new word that has a different, individual meaning. There are three different kinds of compound words: closed compound words, open compound words and hyphenated compound words.

down+hill=downhill
class+room=classroom
butter+fly=butterfly
