Phonics: Module 15, Lesson 2 (Day 72): Vowel -r Syllables

Phonics: Lesson 2 - Build Automaticity with Vowel-r Syllables.

Introduction

Today, you will blend words with vowel-r syllables and read words to develop fluency.

Yesterday, we learned how to identify words with vowel-r syllables. Remember, when the letter r follows a vowel, it changes the vowel sound. The vowel is neither long nor short. Some r-controlled vowel spellings are: ar, er, ir, or, and ur. The spelling must stay in the same syllable.

Vowel-r Syllables Examples
