Phonics: Lesson 2 - Build Automaticity with Closed Syllables.
Introduction
Today, you will blend words with closed syllables and read words to develop fluency.
Yesterday, we learned about closed syllable words. A closed syllable ends with a consonant. It often has a short vowel sound. Some words, such as plenty, have a closed first syllable. Other words, such as minus, have a closed second syllable.
Let’s practice building our reading fluency by completing the Build Automaticity with Closed Syllables.
Practice reading the list of words three times. Then, login to Flipgrid to record yourself reading the words fluently.
