  • A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. For example: nurse, store, toy, and bravery. 
  • A verb is a word that shows an action. For example: jump, mix, write, and read.
  • An adjective is a word that describes a noun. For example: foggy, sharp, rough, and happy.
