Hello readers! You’ve all spent a lot of time reading independently and learning strategies to help become more engaged with text. As time passes, you will become a more advanced reader, and the books you read will become more difficult. As this happens, you may need to review and reuse the strategies you have already learned.

Directions:
1. Choose one of your favorite picture books. Set the book up for Break Reads.
2. As you read more books that contain more complex words, we need to remember an old strategy: “Read it! Don’t Guess it!”

3. As you’re reading, ask yourself questions to practice Wake Up Your Brain!
