Short Response Answer: Simple, Concise, and To the Point
Video
Hello writers, we have practiced writing narratives, informational text and opinion pieces. But writers need to know how to write much more than that. For the next few sessions, we are going to practice how to respond to a prompt in a simple, concise manner using a formula.

In just a couple of months, you will have the opportunity to show what you’ve learned this year on the Georgia Milestones. The first step in doing this is to be sure to read prompts and questions very carefully. Often asking yourself: "What am I being asked to do?", and "Where can I find text evidence to support my answer?"
Directions:
- Read the passages and anchor charts.
- Respond to the prompts. Be sure to use the pre-writing and post-writing checklists.
- On the summary slide, click "export text." Compare your responses to the sample responses. How did you do? What can you improve next time?
