Phonics: Module 22, Lesson 2 (Day 107): Build Automaticity with Variant Vowels

Phonics: Lesson 2 - Build Automaticity with Variant Vowels

Introduction

Today, you will blend and read variant vowels to develop fluency.

Visual

Look at the word author. In a word with more than one syllable, the variant vowel stays in the same syllable. Ex: au/thor.

The spellings au as in fault, aw as in claw, ough as in brought, and augh as in taught also stand for the /ô/ sound.
