Visual

We have been learning how to read and write words with irregular plurals. There are a few rules that we have to remember when working with irregular plural nouns.

  1. If a noun ends in f, change the f to v and add -es. (Example: leaf/leaves)
  2. If a noun ends in fe, change the fe to v and add -es. (Example: knife/knives)
  3. Some nouns have vowel or other spelling changes. (Example: foot/feet and child/children)
  4. Some nouns do not follow a rule, so you will have to remember what the plural is. (Example: deer, moose, sheep, fish, and species)

Irregular Plural Nouns: children, feet, moose, leaves
