Hello readers! Today I’d like to teach you a strategy that will help you read an unfamiliar word. This is a strategy that you will be able to use with any book you might be reading.  After you watch a demonstration of how to use the strategy you will create a flip grid post showing how you used the strategy during independent reading today.

Directions: 

  • Choose one example from today’s independent reading.

  • Demonstrate to the class how you were able to use the strategy "Write it! Read it!".

  • In your Flip video, show us how you:

    • wrote the word on the post-it

    • said each letter’s sound

    • and then how you blended all the sounds together (just like I did in the video)

    • Finally, read the sentence from your book where you first encountered this word.

  • Go to the Next page for your Flip assignment.
