Hello readers! You’ve all spent a lot of time reading independently and learning strategies to help become more engaged with text.  As time passes you will become a more advanced reader and the books you read will become more difficult. As this happens you may need to drop back and review and reuse the strategies you have already learned.


 

Break Reads

Directions: 

1.  Choose one of your favorite picture books.

2.  Set the book up for Break Reads:

3.  As you're reading, practice visualizing to focus:

4.  And practice Go Slow to hear the story:

5.  This should be a book you're very familiar with.  You might want to try reading it aloud and discussing how you're using the reading strategies with the adult at home with you.
