Phonics: Module 5, Lesson 2 (Day 22): Long e

Phonics: Lesson 2 - Build Automaticity with Long e

Introduction

Today, you will blend words with the long e spelling patterns and read words to develop fluency.

Yesterday, we learned about the long e spelling patterns.

Long e words can be spelled in different ways: e_e; ea; ee; ey; y; ie; and the letter e, usually when it comes at the end of a syllable.

Examples: these, reach, greed, honey, muddy, piece, zebra

Let’s practice building our reading fluency by completing the Build Automaticity with Long e activity.

Read each word. Reread the list and select the words that contain the long e spelling patterns formed with a vowel team (ea, ee, ie).
