Writing: Module 3, Lesson 5 (Day 15): Writing True Stories: Small Moment Strategy #1

Zooming In

Video

Let’s refocus our writing by revisiting all we learned so far - starting with Zooming In. Which picture shows you what the flower looks like with the most detail? Just like a photographer zooms in to take a picture of a flower instead of a whole field to show you the clear details, writers also zoom in on the most important part of their story, so you can clearly understand their writing.

Zoomed in picture of red flower.                        Field of red flowers.

Zoom In

Let’s practice: Using the picture of this single flower, zoom in and focus on the most important details. Show all the details in your writing so the reader can see the flower in their head without looking at the picture.
