Introduction

Today, you will blend words with short vowels and read words to develop fluency.

First, let’s review the short vowel sounds. Listen to the vowels in the following words: bad, set, hit, hot, and fun.

When a single vowel in a syllable is followed by a consonant, the vowel usually has a short sound.

Let’s practice building our reading fluency by completing the Build Automaticity with Short Vowels activity.
