Directions:
- Start the 45-minute timer and begin writing.
- It is suggested to break up the 45 minutes. Spend:
- 15 minutes to plan
- 15 minutes to write
- 15 minutes to revise
- Prompt:
- Write a personal narrative, a true story about something that happened to you.
- Focus on writing all the details of that one small moment in your life.
- Now that you have your writing, it is time to reread and revise. Here is a sample of an edited piece of writing.
- Notice that you need to check for ending punctuation, capital letters, spelling that makes sense, and writing that is neat so that others can read your awesome writing.

Directions:
Be sure to check your writing for each of the following. Check each item as you review your story.
Reread & Revise
- Reread your story one sentence at a time.
- Do all the parts make sense?
- If not, try rewriting the part that is confusing.
- Check for capital letters & punctuation.
Other things to consider, does your story have:
- A beginning
- Events are in order
- Details to help readers play that movie in their mind
- An ending
After you have finished revising and editing, go to the next page to submit your assignment.
