Here is a piece of writing, written by a third-grader. I want you to read it.

Assignment
Directions:
- Think about the writing piece "The Time my Mom Lost her Wedding Ring"
- What do you notice?
- An example of a noticing would be: "I noticed a lot of writing."
- What do you wonder?
- An example of a wonder would be: "I wonder if the person wrote for 45 minutes?"
- Go to a clean page in your writer's notebook and put your name and today’s date at the top.
- Then fold your page in half, so there is a line going down the middle of the page, so you have 2 columns
- Next title the top of one column NOTICINGS and the other WONDERINGS
- Then write down all the things you notice and wonder about the piece under the correct title.
- Try to get 3 in each column.
- Take a picture of what you wrote and share it with your teacher.
