Lesson 18 Pollution and Conservation: Make Your Own Windmill

Make Your Own Windmill

Hello again!

As we start to wrap up our pollution and conservation unit, it’s time to make a craft that relates to what we learned about renewable energy. We are going to make windmills today out of simple materials! Your materials list and directions are included in the poster below. You’ll also need your science journal to reflect on your build. Have fun building your windmill!

Assignment

Respond to the following questions in your Science Journal:

  1. Were there any changes or substitutions you had to make in your materials when you were building? If you did, do you think those changes affected the outcome of your windmill?
  2. What happens when you blow on the windmill? Does it matter which direction you blow from?
