Land Pollution, Part 2

Hello again!

Let’s finish learning about land pollution through a video on landfills. We have landfills all across the world in order to keep our trash in one location. But what happens when that space gets full? The video below talks about what can be done to help landfills be less of a problem in polluting our soil and our air.

Science journal:

Answer the following questions from the video:

  1. How is land pollution connected to air pollution (hint: there is a gas that comes from the landfill)?
  2. What are some cities doing to help reduce the amount of trash that goes into landfills?

Answer the following questions in your science journal about your Tiny Garbage Patch:

  1. Are there any changes you can see inside the jar? If so, what are they?
  2. Hold the jar with both hands. Does it feel like it’s any warmer than you expected it to be?
