Lesson 17 Rocks and Soils: How Fossils Are Formed

Greetings!

Now that you have seen what types of fossils there are out there, let’s look at how they are formed in nature. It’s a very slow process. There are two things you will be looking at today. The first is a video to talk about fossils that were found in an ash bed in Nebraska. You can see how one paleontologist explains how the fossils found there were made.

Then you have another digital poster that puts the stages of fossilization in order in very simple terms. You will see how it matches with what the paleontologist from the video says.
